Head of Finance
Our client, a well-established and highly respected engineering business based in Wellingborough, is looking to appoint an experienced Head of Finance to join their senior leadership team.
This newly created role comes at an exciting time for the business as it continues to grow across a group of companies. The successful candidate will take ownership of the finance function, ensuring robust financial controls, efficient processes, and accurate reporting are in place to support continued expansion.

Key Responsibilities
Lead the day-to-day finance function across the group of companies
Develop and improve financial systems, processes, and controls
Ensure accurate and timely monthly management accounts and reporting
Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning
Drive efficiencies and identify opportunities to improve financial processes
Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
Oversee year-end accounts, audits, and tax reporting
Support operational and commercial teams with financial information and analysis
Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team
Work closely with senior management to support business growth and decision-making
Manage relationships with external accountants, auditors, banks, and other professional advisors
About You
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
Previous experience in a senior finance role such as Head of Finance, Financial Controller or Finance Director
Strong understanding of financial controls, reporting, and process improvement
Experience implementing or enhancing financial systems and procedures
Hands-on approach with the ability to operate strategically while remaining involved in the detail
Strong communication skills with the ability to work across all areas of the business
Proven leadership experience with the ability to develop and motivate a team
Experience within engineering, manufacturing, or project-based environments would be advantageous
