Our prestigious client, based in Corby, is looking for a Commercial Specialist who can bring with them a great analytical mind from a forecasting and logistics background
Job Summary
The Commercial Specialist will work closely with the commercial, marketing, supply chain and finance teams to develop and execute data-driven strategies that will enable them to achieve their business objectives. The customer service manager will be a key player between the distributor and end user customers in our forecasting and budgeting processes, providing valuable input to the forecast along with championing the execution of orders to maximise customer satisfaction
Key Responsibilities:
• Order management of orders to ensure orders are delivered on time and in full.
• Maintains regular contact with customers and internal stakeholders providing clarity on status of orders either current or future and in understanding customer trends to support forecasting.
• Develop demand forecasts (operational forecasts) at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons as part of a demand planning function.
• Manage price lists and pricing management. Support resolution of pricing issues.
• Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop forecast models, and evaluate forecast results.
• Coordinate cross-functional activities to reconcile variances and refine the forecast model to reflect updated sales and marketing assumptions.
• Interact with customers, sales, marketing, and finance to understand demand forecast drivers.
• Provide input to the Supply chain Planning organisation in developing “make” and inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs.
• Identify orders that cannot be processed without additional information, documentation, or clarification, and flag the order accordingly.
• Closely coordinate and communicate customer action plans with supply chain planning.
• Carry out routine inventory control audits and support inventory checks to validate finished good inventory is “healthy”.
• Support customer teams in all PDI facilities by creating a commercial and operational link.
• Maintain a high level of customer service support for customers.
• Support the investigation of any subsequent customer complaints or dissatisfaction.
• Support the logistics team when needed to allow the smooth processing of orders to customers.
The Person
• Strong IT/systems use, with excellent Excel / BI skills.
• Demonstrate a good knowledge of S&OP and the demand planning process.
• Strong communicator to all levels, experience dealing with senior level professionals.
• Be looking to continuously improve and can demonstrate ability to remain calm under
pressure.
• Demonstrated proficiency in statistics, forecasting and forecasting methods with an
understanding of their financial and operational impacts.
• Experience of working in a fast moving environment with a proven track record of supply chain, demand planning and customer collaboration.
• Some customer service experience in talking to customers and agreeing action plans.
• Experience managing internal communications, working cross functionally to deliver results.
• Strong interpersonal skills are also essential to effectively interact with all teams, areas and levels of the business.

Skills and Attributes:
• Relevant commercial industry experience, ideally some exposure to a manufacturing and supply chain environment
• Proven IT systems knowledge and skills including advanced BI / Excel skills.
• Knowledge and experience of using ERP /WMS systems.
• Ability to liaise with customers regarding service, supply and query management.
It is desirable, although not essential to have some international experience and possibly a second language, although an understanding of different business cultures around the world would be a distinct advantage.
